Fremantle and War
This exhibition presents remarkable historical and archaeological evidence that unearths the vibrant stories of the West End’s most significant treasures.
Ever wondered what was behind the grand façade which now edges the Cliff Street carpark? Or beneath the playground of Lance Holt School? Maybe you’ve always wanted to know the hidden secrets of the P&O Hotel?

This exhibition has been crafted by Dr Shane Burke and students of Western Australian history and archaeology at the University of Notre Dame Australia. Our project brings new insight to five of the West End's major landmarks: the Fremantle Hotel, the Cliff Street façade, Lance Holt School, the P&O Hotel and Phillimore Street's Old Customs House.  Join us online as we wander through the West End, bringing to life new stories about the town you think you know.

This project is created by the University of Notre Dame Australia and supported by the City of Fremantle.
